Yelp1I had a brand new smart system installed by Action. I have never once been able to get them back out to fix the terrible install. My sensors have never worked right which means I can not make use of the app and it's features. They also improperly installed a lock mechanism which caused $1,000 in damage that I had to pay to another company because Action wouldn't even come out lol. I am literally suing them because after I told them about the issues, without even looking at photos or asking a single question, told me I am out of luck. These people suck and you should call Precision out of Akron, they do a much better job. UPDATE: A manager came out to look at everything. While he was on site he was personally expressing that he realizes Action messed up but his hands were tied. So he called the owner Dino, and Dino denied all liability. I am now suing action door because they don't do the right thing. Beware.

Yelp1RIPPING OFF CUSTOMERS ON PARTS PRICING AND ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY: I began experiencing a problem with my garage door opener around Nov 2023, that is, sometimes it would not close with the remote. I called Action Door and they attempted to fix it, but the root cause was never identified. A week later I ran into the same problem again. I called them the second time and this time they hooked up a diagnostic tester and discovered that there is an issue with the circuit board (2nd attempt was on Jan 19, 2024). Now, why did they not run the test the first time to identify the root cause, I don't know! but I was prepared to have Action Door fix it since the reason was finally identified, hopefully. I asked how much, and the tech replied that there will be no labor charge (since they attempted once and failed back in Nov 2023), but part cost will be applied (which is totally understandable). However, they tried to rip me off by quoting me a price for the circuit board that is almost 200% more than what is currently being offered in the market. Multiple vendors on Amazon are selling it for $118 (see the attached picture), and Action Door price was $220 to $250. I showed the market price to the technician, but he was fixed on their price for the part. I informed the tech that I will order the part myself from amazon, and once delivered (Jan 20, Saturday), he can come out on his first available business day to install it. The technician returned to his van and called his office/supervisor and returned with a written summary of the Job order, which included the next service date for board installation (Jan 22, Monday). He also added a $50 labor fee for the upcoming service after his call in the van. Since I had already paid $50 for their initial unsuccessful visit from Nov 23, I had to dispute it. I called their main office in Hudson, the manager on the phone decided to increase the labor cost even more since I was not purchasing their overpriced part. I mentioned to him that the written service agreement provided by his tech states that the part will be supplied by customer and $50 installation charge (the reason why I called their office) will be applied. (see the attached document, "Service Required" section for reference). I understand that the manager who was on the phone with me was trying to compensate for the failed service visits. It costs money to send people out to customers site by the hour, but Action Doors' incompetence is not customers' responsibility. When I tried explaining to the manager, he ended up cancelling the upcoming service. I can conclude that Action Door cannot adhere to their written promises, and they lack honesty/integrity, especially when they cheat people on parts' pricing. They have lost me as a customer, and they have also lost my family and friends that are pursuing their business.

Google5Garage door was 25 years old. Action door replaced the old motor, photo sensor and remotes all in a few hours. This was after they replaced photos sensors a couple months prior. They made it $right!

Yelp1If I could rate this company a 0/5 stars I would. We had a man come out and fix our garage door last month (replace cable, realignment, etc). We paid $260.00 for service. Shortly after he left, our garage door would not close all the way and instead kept coming back up without even touching the ground. We let it go to see if it would correct itself, and it did not. We called Action Door back, assuming they'd correct their mistake out of courtesy, and the tech came out and wiped grass off the bottom of our garage door. Literally that was it. We were charged $180.00 ($175.00 of that being their minimum service fee) that was ALSO never disclosed. This did not fix the problem and it intermittently will still not close. After complaining about the fee, considering this was a new problem that we never had before the first tech was here, Action Door informed me that this was a new problem that was NOT the initial techs fault and we would be charged due to it being a second problem that required a service (aka a service of wiping grass off the bottom of the garage door with no solution). This company is trash and my entire family will no longer be using their services after we've used them for years. Great job Action Door!!! Everyone be aware of the $175.00 service fee that they charge you no matter what!!!!!!! They won't tell you about it.

Yelp1Terrible experience with Action Door in Stow, Ohio! I had an absolute nightmare dealing with Action Door. I needed new garage doors, and they quoted me double the price from just a year and a half ago, blaming supply chain issues. They took forever to install the doors, and when they finally did, one of the techs couldn't even figure out how to program the opener. Instead of trying to fix it, he accused me of having a broken unit and tried to sell me a new one! I managed to program it myself in two minutes, but the tech just kept arguing with me, acting all high and mighty. The cherry on top? They don't accept American Express and even charge you for their credit card processing fee. If you want to avoid a headache, stay away from these unprofessional, condescending clowns.

Yelp1Very upset about the misleading "LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY" offered on their website for the torsion springs that they install. When simply asking more questions, the service manager repeatedly interrupted me and told me he would not answer any more of my questions. Basically told me "I could try to explain it to you a 1000 more times, but you wouldn't get it." While I'm upset that the spring wouldn't be covered, I'm just appalled at how I was treated. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Yelp1Action Door replaced our garage door in 2020, but failed to arrange for a manual entry option, should a power outage occur. The windstorm this past week had us without power over the weekend, with no way to open the door in order to use our car. Could not even budge it. While the door itself is fine, the fact that the installer failed to replace the handle on the door, provide a new key, and talk us through emergency access was a major oversight.

Yelp1Had two different techs look at a door that was broken due to a vehicle hit. First tech wrote everything up and left. Received email a few days later stating the whole door would need to be replaced. So needed another visit to make sure we could match to the other doors (have 3), or at least come close. A Regional manager came out, stated that in fact they could get the replacement panel instead of the whole door. Great! Just send the quote so we can get it started........That was nearly TWO months ago! Have not heard back to any of my calls or emails! Nothing!! Fired! looking some place else!

Angi1As a previous satisfied customer we ordered a door for our new garage on October 6th. It arrived at their facility on December 1st. This was within (Barely) the estimated widow for installation. They notified us of a January 4th installation date yesterday December 4th. When asked why a month delay the answer given is that one of their 2 installers is off work and the other only does one door per day M,W,F. The assumption being that they don't want to pay benefits and use 1099 help/part timers. This is a choice they have made and it has a detrimental effect on our project as winter is approaching. When we ordered the door representations were made that once it arrived it would get installed within a week. This review is not meant to disparage the quality of work they perform as we have been happy with their services in the past. However if you are planning to purchase a door from them beware of the extra time involved based upon their staffing and business decisions. Whomever you order a door from you should ask about their installation backlog. We did at the time of order but things changed and their business leadership did not respond and adjust to keep at least this customer happy. Services Rendered: New Garage Door

Google5I ordered my new door in late 2021. Due to factory delays door shipped in early March 2022. It was well worth the wait. We love the new look it gives our home. Action's Door installer John might be the best person I have ever worked at my home. John made sure that everything was done the way I wanted. Even down to the install of the accents pieces on the door. I would highly recommend Action Door to anyone that needs repairs or total installation of new door.

Google1Wife called to have someone look at garage door keypad which was not working. Was advised by office that we were under warranty and someone would be out. When service worker arrived, they looked at it for about 45 seconds, checked the battery and shrugged saying maybe the keypad needed replaced and then went into cost. Mentioned the cost plus a service fee for even coming out. When scheduled, there was no mention of any charge to expect and they had assumed it was covered under warranty. Learned later that we didn't have a warranty, the office lied and they wanted money. Worker was rude. Then when I called the office a man named Shaun was indignant, rude and condescending. Their product is trash and their customer service is a bait and switch scam with a con artist service manager. Avoid this business like the plague! We wouldn't have even scheduled the service if we knew they wanted $125 to come out for 45 seconds, be rude and not even know what they're talking about. I'm disgusted. They said if we didn't pay they would put us on the "no work" list....well I wouldn't even let them touch my property again if they offered to pay me! That's how bad it was. Seriously, stay away from these bait and switch thieves.

Google5I called when my garage door was suddenly stuck shut, they had someone out the same day to fix it. Service was quick, friendly and afforable. A few days later it was stuck shut again and they had someone back out an hour later to show me how to open it (it was not stuck this time, I was just struggling). The tech who showed me how to open my own garage door was super kind and knowledgable and did not charge me for the second service call, which was so incredibly kind of them!

Google5I called about getting a garage door opener installed and from start to finish was a perfect experience. Had a friendly helpful associate on the phone who quickly set up the appointment for the following day. Technicians came on time and in a couple of hours had my opener installed! They did a quick explanation on all the features of the opener. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Google5Outstanding service! I have used Action Door a couple of times now. First, an emergency service call for a broken spring on a door (Action Door arrived within 2 hours - on a Sunday morning!) The second service call was scheduled - to replace the opener. The new opener was installed quickly and all debris cleaned before the installer left. I even got a nice "orientation" presentation on how everything works! Very pleased.

Angi5It cost $ 120 for the first 30 minutes, so I was a little concerned what the total cost would be. It was shocking how much work they got done in 30 minutes! They were very nice and informative! They had to take the whole bottom section apart, got the bent rail fixed, fixed my door panel so it didn’t have to be replaced, got it back on track and all put back together. Then they tightened the springs and oiled it for me so it wouldn’t be so noisy! Plus they stapled the weather stripping up for me so it wasn’t hanging. Saved me a lot of money by fixing the panel! They did all that in 30 mins! I ❤️ Action Door! I’d definitely call them again! Services Rendered: My garage door was hit by a car and was off track and the door panel was separated.

Angi5He did a great job! He was very nice and professional and didn’t try to charge me for unnecessary services. Services Rendered: The garage door would not close. I thought the motor was broke and possibly needed to be replaced. The tech just needed to make an adjustment to the railing on one side. He said it came out of alignment which was causing the problem.

Angi5It was a new garage door. I think we checked at another company and it was way more than that. There were two people that worked on the garage. I was surprised that there wasn't more. It was only a couple of hours because they had to remove the old door. Services Rendered: We just had a garage door put in.
