Google5When the tension spring on our garage door broke, Ann Arbor Door Systems was able to get it fixed at a convenient time for us. They came out to the house, had all the necessary supplies on hand, and had the job done in an afternoon. Everything went smoothly, from scheduling through to completion, and I would definitely recommend their services.

Yelp5Chris was very helpful in answering questions and helping me choose the most appropriate garage door. He arranged for me to get the unassembled panels ahead of time so I could have them painted. I could reach him easily with any questions. And my new garage door looks great!

From a spring repair to a new garage door motor to a complete 2-car garage door replacement, they have been courteous, professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Google5I've used Ann Arbor Door Systems several times. They have great quality, always the best prices, wonderful services and polite, technically excellent installation. I cannot recommend this company enough. They have gone out of their way to save me money when they could have easily upsold me - and their competitors tried!

Yelp5Our garage door seal was very old and needed replacement. I called Ann Arbor Door and they showed up the same day with the correct part according to my descrption and had it repalced. Without me asking, the serviceman took it on himself to lubricate the wheels and the track to keep it smooth. Great service.

Google5One of the springs on my door broke... I called Ann Arbor Door Systems and Ben arrived about an hour later. They replaced the springs, inspected the rest of the door, lubricated all the moving parts, cleaned up after themselves, and took down a few cobwebs in the corners of my garage. They were done quickly, efficiently, and respectfully and charged exactly what I was told on the phone. I'd recommend them to a friend or call them again if I need to!

Yelp1I'd been a long time customer of theirs, but after this last experience, I am no longer. Ten years ago, they installed a Marantec garage door opener. It worked flawlessly. The only problem was the cotton cord to the emergency release broke off. The cord holding mechanism did not allow for easy replacement, but clearly could have been done. Instead the company told me I would need a entire new mechanism with the same crummy cotton cord and the cost would be over 250 dollars!!!! No effort was made to see how the cord could be replaced with nylon or any other type of longer lasting cord. No, no no no, you either bought the entire mechanism at the inflated price or nothing. But you could buy a new Liftmaster opener for $560.00! And no, we don't carry Marantec anymore and no we don't carry Genie; we just carry Liftmaster. So, my choice was to pay almost half the cost of a new opener just for a cord or buy the Liftmaster. In hindsight, I should have called another company right then and there, but I purchased the Liftmaster which lacks several really nice features of Marantec and the Marantec opener unnecessarily was tossed into the waste stream because a company decided it was more important to rip you off than be ethical and more environmentally friendly. Never again.

Yelp3I was disappointed by my recent sales visit for a new garage door. I had hired this company last year to replace the automatic garage door opener and they arrived in a timely manner and did the work well. So when my garage door became completely dislocated from its metal hinges, I called this company back to repair it. My three main concerns are that: 1st, he said we couldn't repair it and would need to install/buy a new door. That was fine by us and we started discussing price/color etc. Everything was going well until, I asked him when he would be able to come back to install the door. At that point he informed me that due to Covid there were manufacturer delays that would mean that a garage door wouldn't be available for install until at least the end of December (4 months!). I couldn't wait that long and said thank you but I think I will have to try to call a few other companies instead. At which point he started going on and on about how no other companies in the area would have doors either and I shouldn't even bother calling. It seemed odd to me especially because, my garage door is a run-of-the-mill white 16' x 8' door. So, I thanked him again but said I will just call a few places and get back to him. He then started talking about how he would have to charge me a service fee unless I signed with him that day. This was never mentioned to me on the phone when I made the appointment. None of the other 6 companies that I have contacted since to give me a quote, have charged me a 'service fee' for not purchasing through them. I flat out refused to pay him and he left. 2nd, all 6 companies that I did contact had my door in stock and all told me they could install next week, with one company saying they could install it the next day. 3rd, he wasn't wearing a mask and then asked to come into my home to discuss the garage door.

Yelp5There is a certain amount of panic that sets in when the power goes out and your car is trapped in the garage. Some of you might be thinking, "Why not just disengage your garage door opener from the door, and open the damn thing manually?" And that's a great idea. However, it requires that the original installation was done properly. In my case... it was not. Thus the panic. My wife said that I would never be able to get the garage door fixed within the day, especially since we were in the midst of a city wide power outage. Thanks to the Yelp App and the mobile internet, I was able to find A2DS. Indeed, they were scheduling service calls a few days out, but when I explained my predicament, they were able to squeeze me in with an emergency visit within a few hours! The door did not get fixed that day, but the technician was able to work enough magic so I could free my car from its tomb. Then we were able to schedule a follow up visit to actually get the thing fixed. I wasn't even charged for the call. My heroes! As luck would have it, on my long list of to do items, was installing a new opener for the second garage door. So I was able to take care of that as well on the follow up appointment. The A2DS installation crew came as expected, made short work of the project, asked for my input when needed, and were able to complete the job for less than the originally estimated price! Now I have two working, modern, garage doors. Both are programmed into each opener, and I have new openers for each car. Plus there is a spiff new keypad on the side of the house, so I can open and close the doors manually. This all makes me more excited and happy than I had ever imagined! Oh yeah. There was one teeny tiny problem with the button inside the garage to open the old door. But after one quick call, and the problem was taken care of the following day. I recommend this company whole heartedly and without reservation. If you need a garage door, or a repair, give 'em a call.

Angi5One garage door needed to be put back on track and the other door was stuck. The guy fixed and lubricated both doors. It was easy to schedule an appointment and the guy showed up on time. Services Rendered: Garage Doors did not open.

Angi5A hinge on our ancient garage door came apart, as did one of the rollers after many years of neglect. I didn't get chastised at all! The hinge was repaired, a replacement roller installed, and the whole system was lubricated in less than an hour. I should have done this years ago! Wonderful service. Angi5The guys from Ann Arbor Door are quick to pinpoint the problem and correct it, except for the broken spring which had to be special ordered. They always lubricate rollers and such. Price given is for most recent service call, when animals who broke in through eave vents could not find their way out; their blind panic trashed our gleamingly beautiful storage system, the pride of our neighborhood, as well as the safety sensor. Services Rendered: Our garage door opener has been possessed for about a year. We have had Ann Arbor Door out several times to effect repairs, from animals savaging the safety sensors and/or their wiring to broken springs.

Motor installation was friendly and timely. We had replaced the garage door 7 years ago and the 20+ year old motor was not working - so this call was for motor replacement. We purchased the belt driven instead of chain (customer service provided us with all the options/details). Services Rendered: Replacement of garage door motor.

Angi5We have good experiences with this company. The materials are quite nice as well. Services Rendered: I was not happy with the money we spent because we were having problems. They came out and and changed the garage door for me with the money I had already paid. There was no money wasted repairing the old garage door.
