Google5I highly recommend S&S overhead door company. I've used them once for a garage service on a 17 year old garage door installation. My reasons are these - They are responsive, punctual, frugal, and reliable. Responsive - I left them a voice mail, and Justin called me back the same day as promised. Punctual - Justin set a date/time, and he was there promptly at that time. He inspected what needed to be done, and set a second date when he'd have to come back because of what I needed done. He was there promptly at that time. Frugal - I had called another door service company who quoted me a "replace everything because <scary stuff>". Justin was clinical in what he suggested I have done. He suggested replacing some rusted components, and not replacing things which were working well. I really appreciate that he gave me a good reason to replace some things, and a good reason why it was safe not to replace others. Reliable - reading the other reviews here, and the numerous reviews on Angie's list, and seeing what Justin did on my garage door, I feel comfortable that his work will be reliable. Thank you Justin.

Google5THIS IS THE COMPANY YOU WANT TO USE! Justin, the owner/tech was polite, very knowledgeable and professional and went beyond even "the extra mile"! I have an old Liftmaster that needed a new belt. I called no less than a dozen companies and NO ONE wanted to chase down the part. Most wanted nothing to do with the job (except to replace the whole system). Justin offered to get the part and upon arrival told me the belt would be free as he'd contacted Liftmaster and got them to honor a lifetime warranty! Who would have thought to even ask? (except an experienced pro :>). It's so difficult to find an Over the Top company in any field today. I spent quite a few hours figuring this all out and so now I'm taking the time to post this review to make it simpler for the next guy/gal who reads this. NB! Be careful who you hire as I found many Boston area garage door companies are "mobile companies" cleverly using a rented call center (with no "bricks and mortar address"). They come out quickly (in unidentified cars or vans) and likely won't be there if you run into a problem or need follow-up service. . . AND after seeing all the extra little tweaks Justin did to make the job perfect, I doubt these "on the fly" guys would take the extra time or even know how to do them. 1/19/24 Update Had these guys out again - this time for a motor failure on one of my units. Wonderful experience again - They went above and beyond with a few extra no charge tweaks. They are just so thorough, polite and patient! Couldn't recommend them more highly!

Google5Another 5 star experience. I've used S&S before for a repair, Justin came this time and quickly diagnosed and repaired our door. It goes up and down now smooth a silk! My only regret was not calling them sooner!

Google5Great service and very reasonable! I called S&S on a Tuesday morning, Justin got back to me a little over an hour later and was at my house approximately 15 minutes after that. Wow! They fixed my broken cable, replaced a roller, and lubricated the mechanisms. My garage door now works like new. Agree with comments about being careful about other companies using call centers, etc. I made that mistake in the past. Highly recommend S&S!

Google5I have been using many companies for my 3 car garages and I found this company 10 years ago. This is The Best company among all of them. Justin is very knowledgeable, friendly and most of all get the job done quickly so I end up saving money. I will recommend him to anyone. Thank you very much for the excellent service.

Google5We bought our first garage door from S&S over 40 years ago. We call them whenever we need service or installation. they answer calls promptly, prices are fair and they're easy to work with.

Google5I am very impressed with the way Justin was able to explain the issue over the call. He was very helpful with the troubleshooting steps. He was very patient throughout the call and walked through the step by step process. The issue was fixed within 10 minutes. He is very skilled and knowledgeable professional. I highly recommend S & S for any garage door related work.

Google5One of the springs in our garage door just snapped (yesterday) and we couldn't open the garage door at all anymore. I left a message with S&S and in 20 minutes, Justin from S&S promptly called me back, scheduled to come over this morning at 9am to measure the springs that he needed to replace, and came back at 1:15pm this afternoon with parts in hand and fixed the issue in an hour. His communication is great, the garage door works great now, and I would highly recommend this company. I got a quote from another garage door repair company yesterday and it would have been several hundred dollars more for the same fix - so S&S is reasonably priced as well!

Angi5Justin was GREAT! We had a spring break 6 months ago, and had all four replaced by another outfit. The didn't check for damage, and mis-routed the safety cables. Justin replaced the snapped cable, fixed the safety cables, found the damage to the pulleys that may have caused the snapped cable, and replaced the pulleys with higher quality parts than original. Angi5Garage door wasn't working so S&S came out to give a quote to fix it. It turned out not to be broken; Gary showed us what the problem was and also adjusted the finicky keypad. He didn't charge us and was friendly and helpful. We will call S&S again if the garage door actually breaks! Services Rendered: fix broken garage door

Angi2Gary installed this garage door opener in 2013. In 2014 or 2015, one side's cable had frayed significantly, so he replaced the pulleys and the cable at a fair cost. Now in 2019, the same side cable is frayed so badly the door jams. The other side is still good as new. Was quoted $200 parts and labor to replace the cable and pulleys - which had already been replaced once. Not a single concession on the service call for repeat work, probably due to some larger problem such as uneven door pulling leading to fraying and wear on the one side. Very disappointed. Apparently new co-owner does not believe in standing by his company's work. Services Rendered: Second replacement of frayed cable and two pulleys.

Angi5Gary and his son Justin were very responsive. They initially came to assess the door, and were back a few days later to perform a regular maintenance, and to replace the rubber seal on the bottom of a manual one car garage door. They made necessary adjustments to allow the door to seal more efficiently with existing weatherstripping while maintaining a tighter bottom seal to keep critters and maybe a little water from entering (downward sloping garage). Angi5All's well. The door works. Turns out that the actual door frame on that side has twisted outward a bit, so this isn't a permanent fix. But as I'm looking to move, I'll leave that for the next owner. I'll leave the contact info for S&S for the next owner. Services Rendered: Part 1: months ago (April), I had them come to fix my garage door. The bottom caster on one side had jumped out of its track, meaning the door would open, but when it tried to close, that side wouldn't follow the track - it banged the inside of the frame and went back up again. I'd have to manually guide the lower edge of the door past the bend. A nuisance. They (2 guys) came and put the caster back in its track for a decent fee. They advised that more would need to be done for a more permanent solution. Part 2: The caster had jumped the track again. Today they came about 15 minutes earlier than scheduled (no problem). After a bit more banging and bending they seemed to have fixed it again a little less temporarily. No additional charge (I think one of the guys was here last time.)

Angi5Gary's son, Justin, and Adam showed up on time. Replaced the old garage door motor and installed a new one. They were at my house approximately 1 hour. They were both polite, professional and did an outstanding job! They showed me how to use the new remotes and programmed the outside door opener. Overall, they provided A+++ service. I am thinking of replacing my old garage door and will definitely hire them in the Spring to do the work. Don't call anyone else for your garage motor/ door needs. They are honest and call you back and do the job right. Very happy I found them on Angie's List. Services Rendered: Garage door motor needed to be replaced.
