Google5My experience was great. He gave a very fair price over the phone (just a broke spring), showed up on time, knew his stuff and was done pretty quickly. I'd definitely recommend this guy as his work was solid, price was less than the other 3 places I called, and he was able to get to my house the next day.

Google5I highly recommend John for any garage door issues. He installed new garage door openers at our home recently and he was extremely efficient, honest, and did an outstanding job. It's rare to find any contractor who commicates with the customer. John is the exception! I read the review that DR wrote and it was just wrong!! Sounds to me like he just wants something to complain about! Thanks John for doing a great job!

Google5We got to know Jon when we had problems with the garage doors not being able to close properly at our rental properties, I found him on the post board at an ACE store. Jon came rapidly after the call though it was after hours late at night. He quickly diagnosed the problem and rewired, then it worked like a charm. Later on, Jon installed two new insulated garage doors with insulated garage glass at our house. He changed a couple of garage doors for our rental properties also. His crew did high quality job and the doors are sealed and aligned perfectly. Jon definitely knows garage doors and possesses customer satisfaction mindset. He is professional, reliable, efficient and easy to communicate. His price is transparent and reasonable. We will recommend him for both installation and repairs.

Google5Jon replaced my garage door opener motor when the prior one's inner workings started to give out. He is honest, reliable, and professional. I have recommended him to my neighbors, and would do so to anyone looking for someone that understands the industry and different systems for individual needs. My new opener has wifi (Jon's suggestion) so I can open or close it from my phone. It is a HUGE improvement over my previous system. If you need a person who can evaluate your door, repair it or install a new one, I recommend Portwood.

Yelp5My garage door motor was stopping and starting in weird ways and at times refused to close the door. I'd end up pulling the ripcord and disengaging the motor to be able to close the door and get to work on time. Of course, then I would worry that someone would come and manually open the door while I was away during the day. Portwood Garage Door came out the same day I called and fixed the motor problems for a VERY reasonable price. It has worked perfectly since then. Not even one day of strange behavior. Very happy to have called them.
