Wow-- Flabbergasted by Great Service- how the heck often does that happen?
I had the misfortune of having my garage door come down and hit and get stuck on the bumper of my car! My fault for being lazy and stupid and not checking etc. I was told by two different companies in Chico that they would replace the top panel, until they found out the age of the door and said that they could never find a match, no matter how hard they tried and that a whole new garage door- plus track and electronics were my only choice. The cost- somewhere around two grand.
I decided to try one more time and called AJ Overhead Door in Paradise, CA. The owner, Tim, took my call and assured me that he would find a way to make sure the door worked, but without having to replace "everything."
Today they showed up (10 Minutes early) to look at the door. The guy who looked at it was Quint. Nice guy and ready to help me out. He took one look at the door and said that they could do the job and save me a considerable amount compared to the estimates I had been given previously. I just (being tired of the whole situation said- do what ya gotta do!
Quint got to work and said that he would notify me when he was finished. I thought it would be hours and hours away. One half hour later he knocked on the door between the garage and the house and announced--"All Done."
To make a long story somewhat shorter-- he had installed a steel bar across the top and had virtually unfolded the ruined parts of the door. The door is now in perfect working order. My bill??? $106.53 including parts, labor, tax and service call charge. Asked if he wanted cash, check, credit card? He said that he would happily take a personal check. Who (in a college town) does that?
The door works--- even better than before. He greased and lubricated every part imaginable and went merrily on his way. Would I recommend AJ Overhead Door? With all of my heart and soul--- good lord- great customer service at a savings of almost two THOUSAND dollars. WOW what a company and what great employees. Please, if you need help like these guys can offer, do not hesitate to call them--good God what a pleasure to find honest, hard working people who care less about immediate profit than in being in business in the long run.
