Power outage killed a board in one of my openers. Applegate was able to get to it in a timely manner. They also resolved a programming issue with my remotes.

The first time I used this business, I had never had service on my garage door before, and I felt they did a competent job, but each time since, the service has been less and less satisfactory. They have made promises they didn't keep, the work was shoddy, and the receptionist on the phone is surly and unhelpful. Recently I had an accident with my garage door. I called Applegate, and was brusquely told they couldn't possibly help me until a month in the future, with no concern at all expressed for my emergency situation. So I contacted another company, because my door was ruined with my car trapped inside my garage. It was the Friday before a 3 day holiday. Their receptionist expressed real concern, and immediately contacted the owner, and called me back to reassure me that he would come. He was returning from Portland, and came to my house on his way back. Got there at 7:00 PM, was able to get my warped, splintered door back in its track, so I could park outside the garage. He will return to install a new door as soon as he can schedule it. He is amazing! I will NEVER call Applegate again!

We live in Philomath and strive to support our local businesses. I DO NOT recommend Applegate Door Company. They installed a garage door opener for us about a month ago. It worked great until our springs broke, not their fault. My husband tried to replace the springs himself to no avail. We needed to call the professionals. Applegate Door Company was booked out a month, so we contacted another company. The other company informed us that the wrong door opener was installed and that our $500 was wasted. We called Applegate to give them a chance to rite their wrong. We were jerked around and told it would be more than a month for them to look at it for eligibility of a refund or replacement. I feel like this is HORRIBLE customer service!!! We are very disappointed and will never recommend them. Services Rendered: Garage Door Opener

I called Applegate, who had done the original installation and a subsequent spring replacement. They said their earliest appointment was 3 weeks in the future. Clearly, they don't want to participate in the repair market. Services Rendered: I had a broken garage door opener.

Excellent installation and service. I will use them again without hesitation. I selected an expensive door and they suggested one very close that saved me a considerable amount of money without compromising the quality or curb appeal. They were on time and under budget.

One star too many. We ordered a garage door from Applegate on October 20th, 2018 and they told us they were backed up and that the installation would not be until December 7th. At the time they also required a 50% down payment to initiate the order. Even though this was a long wait, we went ahead and placed the order anyway. Then, when we contacted them to confirm the installation, just before Thanksgiving on November 20th, they said they would only be measuring for the door on December 7th, and the installation would not be until December 27th! This was not a misunderstanding on our part, as they also told our contractors that the door would be installed on December 7th. What was most infuriating was the fact that they were not the least bit apologetic or sympathetic to this delay. As such, we cancelled the order, and again, they never bothered to call us back, they just sent us receipt in the mail. Had we not cancelled our order, they would have held our $800 deposit in their bank for almost 2 months without performing any work or ordering a door. They should have returned our ~$800 deposit with interest. In addition to this rotten customer service, and to make matters worse, Applegate lied to our contractors. Our contractors, who had recommended Applegate and felt bad, called them to find out why they had changed their installation date. Appelgate told them they had "went to the house but nobody was there" and that they "lost all of the notes regarding our order". If they went to our house, which is an empty vacation home, they never informed us, and of course we would not be there. Overall these guys remind us of the old shoddy aluminum siding businesses from the1960s, and it seems they think they are the only game in town. Well they are not. There are several other local garage door installation and sales businesses that we found have excellent customer service. Our advice, don't waste your time......

My seven overhead RV doors were hard to lift. Two guys--two hours and the doors fly open. Great service from two really polite and professional techs.-- (Gunner & Josh). Great service.

Applegate was beyond helpful in this project. We had a time crunch and needed to get the panels replaced right away. They were able to locate the panels (that were almost out of stock). They replaced them just in time before we got our house painted. The office staff was very professional and answered all my questions. They helped us get this done in a very short time frame. The installer was on time, efficient and our entire door is now running more efficiently than before. The price estimate was clear and right on for the work done. Overall we couldn't be more happy with the service we were provided. We would hire them again without hesitation. Services Rendered: Needed lower two panels of garage door to be replaced due to a dent.

I received a bid for two garage doors and openers. The doors arrived about a week and install was scheduled a few days later. The crew was in and out of the garage in about five hours. I am very pleased with the results.

On Friday afternoon after 4 pm, my garage door cable wrapped around the door attachment and I could not open it all the way. I was in a panic because I couldn't get my car out. Fortunately the lady at the service desk told me she would try to get these two men before they were on their way home. When they arrived, the door was fixed within 15 minutes and they also reprogrammed my garage door opener that had not worked for some time. I highly recommend them.

First note that i write this review reluctantly as Applegate has previously provided me satisfactory service. Note also that as this is an RV garage the door is opened infrequently. While all seemed ok initially we soon began experiencing problems as the top panel repeatedly came off the track - a major problem on a 13' tall door that barely clears the RV. I also began replacing rollers on lower panels as they were bending. It finally became so much of a problem that I stopped by their office and talked with Lawrie who told me I was then beyond their warranty period but he'd take a look and make it right. He and a technician subsequently made several adjustments including relocating the opener arm - all without charge. However, things quickly went from bad to worse as the top panel - while no longer coming off the track - bent in the middle where the opener is attached. I again stopped by and talked with Lawrie who assured me he would take a look. Since then many weeks have passed and repeated calls to the Applegate office have gone nowhere - they (both Lawrie's son and the lady who sometimes answers) take a message and I very simply never get so much as a return call. I've never expressed anger and all of our exchanges have been pleasant - I simply receive no response and am left with a very large door that is both damaged and inoperable - evidently as a result of poor installation. Services Rendered: Applegate door expanded our 12' (h) x 18' (w) RV garage door to 13' high after we had another contractor relocate the header to the 13' height. It was explained to me that as we have only a 14' ceiling installation would be a challenge. However, all seemed to go well and i was pleased with the service (Note also that Applegate previously relpaced both of our other garage doors satisfactorily).

We decided to rehabilitate a falling down garage workshop building. During the process we contact Laurie to see what the requirements would be for clearances and installation. He gladly came out and advised us as to his needs. A couple months later I phoned to schedule an appointment to make sure the the criteria was met for easy installation. He came out again and okayed the construction. I later went to their office where I met with Merlin and Mellisa. A couple weeks later, Dan, the installer arrived and put in the door. We were most pleased with the service they offered and their very pleasant and helpful ideas. This is a local family outfit that is nothing short of wonderful to do business with. Services Rendered: Installed new insulated roll up door in a garage that had been totally rebuilt from foundation to roof.
