I called Independent Overhead Doors in the morning. They were able to be at the house within an hour of when I was able to be there in the afternoon. Shane was the technician. He was knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. Job was completed quickly, replacing the spring and applying a brace to the door in under an hour. I felt like Independent Overhead Doors was a good value from a cost standpoint. Would highly recommend!!

While closing the garage door I heard a snap...the door stopped moving and the opener kept running to completion. Chain is hanging down, cable loose on top, oh oh, I knew I couldn't fix it. Door was half way closed so I closed it. Called Independent Overhead Doors and they came in the time window as promised (actually earlier!). Knowledgeable, friendly tech, went right to work diagnosing the problem all the while answering all of my pesky questions. He went to get the replacement parts, got right to work fixing the chain and cable that had broken and patiently answered more of my questions about the garage door. He noticed that the door was not installed properly and a part had been put on backwards so in the course of fixing the chain, he put the part on properly. He adjusted the door so it opened and closed correctly and lubricated the hinges and rollers. It took just over and hour to fix and the door was working again. I would recommend using this company for any garage door needs as they were quick to respond, charged a fair price and cleaned up after they're done. How often does that happen!

Honest company - our garage door is very old. Despite this our tech said it's still a good door but did need a brace which he installed. New opener was recently installed by a different expensive highly rated company but didn't work right off and on, and their customer support was not the best. IOC fixed the installation problem and fortunately the opener now works. I was also impressed by same day service, quick return phone call by Doug and prompt arrival time by Cary.

Last year we had a broken spring on our garage door which is 8 years old as was the house. When the service man came out, he told me that all off the springs needed replacing, and that if I didn't replace the rollers too, the garage door could come crashing down on my head, or a child's head and kill us. That was pleasant to hear. So I opted only for the spring replacement which he did for a whopping $515.00. After he left I noticed that the garage door sounded louder and shakier than it had ever before. I decided not to call him back because I felt I couldn't trust him. I imagined he would then tell me we needed another $500 of work done. Of course, I could've been wrong. So we lived with the noise for another year until I called another garage door repair that was recommended to me and goodness, what a difference. No scare tactics, no hard sales pitches, just straight forward and very pleasant service. I will be writing a good review about them, which is what prompted me to go back and write this negative review of Independent Overhead Doors.
