Review from Frederick H.

I have one comment with regard to Josh Turner garage door service and that is "This guy is good". One of my garage door torsion tension springs broke on mothers day weekend in May after working well for 15 years, so I knew I was on borrowed time. I waited until now to provide a review to allow the new spring installation to be operated for a while. The new springs Josh installed have been working just great for 7 months now. I called Josh a few days after the spring broke after getting a couple of other estimates and also on the basis of the consistency of the good reviews (although there were fewer than some other installers). His quote was very competitive, he came the next day and installed two new springs. In addition, he lubricated my chain & track, and also inspected the drive gear and bearing in my opener. He indicated to me that the bearing was going bad and showed me how it was causing the drive assembly to tilt. He said he could install a new drive assembly and bearing for another $55 while he was there. Since I knew the opener itself was over 20 years old, and I had replaced the drive gear (nylon) once myself when the teeth had been stripped out, I knew he was giving me the straight scoop, and so I told him to go for it. Bottom line is that I got both the springs and the drive assembly replaced for not much more than what a couple of other installers had quoted. But, here is the real kicker in my opinion. As he was checking over my overall system, there was a wire that was stapled to the drywall ceiling. This wire at one time had run from the opener to a keyed switch on the outside of the door with the original Chamberlain opener that the builder installed which I had since replaced with a Craftsman opener with wireless keypad on the outside of the door. So, although the wire had no current usefulness, Josh upon noticing that part of the wire was hanging a bit loosely from the ceiling proceeded to add a few staples from his staple gun so that the wire now is attached more tightly to the ceiling. That is just how thorough he was. This really impressed me and is just one aspect of why I say this guy is just really good. I don't think anyone could go wrong with having Josh repair your garage door springs or mechanism.
