I scheduled torsion spring replacement, Andrew set clear expectations for the start and duration of the work, and called in advance of arrival. The work was explained to me, then completed quickly and professionally, and the crew left everything as neat as they found it. Absolutely perfect from start to finish. Had Andrew (owner) install a new liftmaster 8500w yesterday. This is a side mount (jack stand) unit. No more track or overhead unit. All I can say is this thing is sweet and worth every penny. Fast and quiet! Andrew and Danny had this thing installed in 45 minutes. No mess. I called around and 1st Choice had the best price and most knowledge with this style unit. Highly recommend both the company and unit! Very professional and actually encouraged me too watch and learn how to install. Thanks again guys....

When I met Andrew for an estimate, He gave me one price for all the services like new insulated door, installation, hauling old door etc. When we decided on the deal, he had to reschedule the original install date. But was rescheduled at my convenience. He replaced the door, opener and demonstrated the system. He also cleaned up the place before he left. Andrew arrived within an hour of our request for a quote and we had a quote before he left. He wasable to schedule the installation within a week within a week with the caveat that he had been experiencing two hour delays because his supplier was in the process of relocating. He set an estimated arrival time of 10 AM. I called when they hadn't arrived by about 11. Long story short, They still had not arrived by 1:00 since the door still had not been loaded. I had to work from home a second day. They arrived at 9:00AM the next morning and worked continuously and efficiently until the job was done and the worksite was cleaner than when they started. They were gone by 1:00 with a promise that the recyclers would pick up the old doors, framing and pile concrete counterbalance weights by 5:00. They arrived and were gone by 3:00 leaving nothing behind. During the installation they realized that there were two lights and a chin-up bar that would interfere with the door. They removed the bar and relocated the lights that were missed in the quote with no additional charge. The quality of the work, materials and equipment are all great. Most important are the quality of the people who were all focused on their work and completing the job. Services Rendered: Removed a pair of 50 plus year old flip-up garage doors with counterbalance hardware from a single span double car opening and installed a new 16x7 foot overhead door and new door closer.
They were fantastic. They were excellent. One of the technicians left a very expensive saw on site. We called to let them know, and they were so appreciative, that they installed a manual release at no charge. I thought that was really nice. Services Rendered: They installed a new garage door opener with battery backup, safety sensors, wall button, wifi capability, and keyless entry.

My car was literally stuck in my garage and thank goodness for Andrew Smith of 1st Choice Garage Doors, Eastpointe, MI. He came to my rescue on a day with extremely bad weather. He arrived within a half hour of me calling and did not even try to gouge me. He even let me get my car out if the garage without charging me and came back the next day and fixed my door while I was not home. The door works better than ever before. Showed up when promised, did everything in a timely manner. Made sure I understood how to operate new opener with remote. Let me know I could call if any problems came up. My only negative would be the clean up. After sawing my old garage door in pieces, (in the drive way) found metal pieces in driveway, and a few inside the garage. I swept garage, and driveway, ( they did before me) and still the few days later, I found 2 more pieces(metal scraps) in the driveway. The only thing I think would have been better, was a vacuum, maybe a tarp, a blower, or a trailer to just put existing doors on and cut up somewhere else, to make sure there would be no metal scraps at all, left in the driveway or in the garage. I do not want to sound negative overall, because I am not. Would gladly refer him to friends, family and neighbors. Garage door looks great, opener is great. They were in, they were out. Would use this company again. Services Rendered: Removed the existing one piece garage door, installed a new garage door, and added a new opener.
These guys know what they are doing. They fixed the broken spring on my garage door in less than a half hour and were very courteous. Would recommend them to anyone needing repairs on garage doors. They also were the least expensive. Another company wanted to charge me more than double what 1st Choice charged and they back up their work with a warranty.
Woke up to a broken garage door spring, not the best way to start the weekend. We quickly googled garage door repair and found several listings. The first company we called was going to come out later in the day, however after reading their reviews we were worried about the overall cost since most of the reviews mentioned the price being way higher then was estimated over the phone. 1st Choice Garage Doors was actually our 2nd choice, but it quickly be evident they should have been our 1st. Our tech, Andrew, was over within an hour of calling! He was nice, gave helpful tips to keep our garage door in proper working order. He had the necessary parts on hand and was able to fix the door in no time at all. Best of all the final price was WAY less then the other company had "estimated". I'm so glad we found these guys and best of all, the garage door was fixed and we didn't spend our Saturday sitting around waiting for a tech.
Spot on. Had a scary night with a garage door that wouldn't close except for about halfway. A cable was thrown from the wheel and the tracks were bent. 1st Choice came out the next day and was done with the project in about ten minutes. They were prompt, courteous, and have a 90 day warranty on their work. Thanks guys.
I have had these guys come out twice to fix our garage door that keeps falling off the track. They are always on time, professional and courteous. Since my repair is always minimal, they check out other things as well that may be giving me problems like when it would always fritz out in the rain! They also have a 90 day warranty on their work, which is a nice sense of security. They do charge a $55 service fee, which I don't have a problem with since they check out everything else as well.
