Well, that was two weeks ago. Services Rendered: I called and talked to Steve about some work we wanted done. He told me he would call and be out within the week.

Let me start by saying that i called 10 different contractors, and Steve was the first to call back (some didn't even call back, others 2 weeks later) first to show up for the estimate, and didn't try to talk me into more than was necessary. As a matter of fact, I was the one who kept showing him, one more thing ! Our problems started with a small piece of grout, about 2 inches in length. It fell out from between two tiles @ the bottom of our stand up shower. This allowed water to be wicked behind the tile, causing water damage on the sheetrock behind the tile. For what ever reason, dura rock and or green board, were not used in a small portion of the shower surround. The bathroom had too have all the tile in the stand up shower removed and replaced, as well as having the tub deck shored up for lack of support. The wet sheet rock became a chalky wet mess, which dripped water onto our kitchen ceiling, causing discoloration and the tape on the ceiling to start to peel. We determined that the whole ceiling would need to be addressed since there were more than 2 dozen nail "pops" and well as several spots where tape was cracked and peeling. My kitchen ceiling runs into my living room as well as the foyer, so all of that would have to painted when the repair was done. I decided to have the hallways as well as common areas repainted in addition to the ceiling and master bath. While I had Steve looking @ everything, I had him check our storm door which we got to stop water from coming in when it rained. Our whole front door jamb is off, allowing almost a quarter to one half inch of light in on the right side, so every time it rained, it rained inside my front door. The problem was the when another company installed the storm door, they just followed the existing door jamb, giving us a second door that allowed both light and water to come into the house! While he was looking @ the storm door, he noticed that the wood trim above the door had peeling paint and was starting to rot. So we decided to repair, calk and repaint that as well as the ever-growing list of other things that needed to be done! Steve brought in Randy Travis from Travis tile to do the tile work in the bathroom. He is an artist! It looks so good. In addition to the shower surround, he and his partner, I didn't get her name, dug out the old grout in my tub surround which was crumbling and re-grouted the tub surround as well. Steve and his assistant Robbie, did all the patch work on the tape and dug out all the old mud from the nail pops and re-muded all of it! Very time consuming, because you had to keep waiting for the mud to dry between each coat. Then came the fun part, sanding it all! They took turns, as one man sanded and the other held a shop vac up next to the sanding blocks to minimize the mess. I have 2 kids, one is only 9 months old, so this was GREATLY appreciated!! I don't have time for extra clean -up! The brought in Tim from Dorsey's painting and he and his partner, I can't remember his name, did a fabulous job! They painted all the ceilings as well as the master bath ceilings, the master bath walls and trim, the front door wood trim as well as re-doing my bad job on the side lights and even spray painting the star above my front door! Since Steve was doing so much around the house, I asked him if he wouldn't mind re-hanging a shutter that blew off my house a while ago, it had been sitting in the garage for about 2 years, which they did, looks great! And while we were in the garage, I asked about paint that was peeling around the garage doors and was informed it was starting to rot, they fixed that as well! It took just under 3 weeks from first call for estimate to completion of work. I would love to use Steve again, though next time for something more fun, like finishing the basement or extending the patio....or maybe a pergola over the extended patio....hmmmmmm....... Services Rendered: Shower repair, tile work, drywall repair, paint, re-hanging a storm door, fixing wood trim around front door, fixing wood framing around 2 door garage
