I am not one to readily leave negative reviews, but my experience with El Paso Garage Door Repair in May 2023 compelled me to share my experience for the benefit of others.
I hired El Paso Garage Door Repair in May 2023 to replace two of my garage doors following wind damage. During the initial installation, one of the doors was noticeably dented and scratched, which was concerning given it was supposed to be a brand-new install. While they were quick to address and replace these flawed panels after I pointed them out, the fact that such an oversight occurred in the first place was unsettling and felt a little sketchy. But they were prompt in fixing and replacing this specific issue. However, my experience with them had other issues that left me disappointed and frankly out over $2,000 extra.
My decision to pay the significant sum of $6,100 was influenced by the assurance of a warranty and other positive reviews. Also, the fact that I am a veteran, and this is a veteran owned business. I later discovered that this warranty does not cover wind damage. This stung particularly hard given that wind damage was the very reason for my initial replacements. Their rationale? Garage doors aren't equipped to withstand 'hurricane force winds'. The previous doors had been there for 10 years prior, and they only just recently needed to be replaced. This feels a lot like a quality of material and craftsmanship issue.
Not knowing this information up front was an oversight and El Paso Garage Repair sent me a new quote of $2,040.54 to replace the second wind-damaged door. This was about the price I paid for the first one.
Additionally, the quality of their finishing left much to be desired. Post-installation, the absence of caulking around the weather stripping's edges was glaringly evident, lending a rough and incomplete appearance. When I raised the issue of the caulking, both the employee and the foreman unequivocally stated they don't provide caulking services around the weather stripping. They said that they had other customers ask and tell them the same thing. They suggested I buy my own caulk and do the work myself, despite my original doors being fully caulked and weather sealed.
While the employees I interacted with were courteous and professional, the ordeal means I cannot endorse their service and I will no longer be their customer. There were simply too many red flags for me to confidently recommend El Paso Garage Door Repair. If you're considering their services, I urge you to clarify all terms and conditions beforehand.
