Yelp2A1 is the garage service previously used on the house I bought. I figured I'd just continue to use them. Big mistake. They do not disclose prices ahead of time, and the labor fees are outrageous. Staff on phone calls are not helpful since there is no honest pricing. There is a lot of pressure in their sales. I have used them twice to try to give a fair chance and I've had enough.

Google5Zach did a wonderful job removing my old garage door and installing my door and opener. He is extremely knowledgeable and I would consider him an expert installer. Plus, he ended up doing the entire job alone as his assistant was out sick. He made sure I was happy with everything before he left. I enjoyed meeting him and I am happy that A1 has such high quality employees like Zach.

Google5Andrew showed up on time and was thorough with his inspection of our garage doors. Andrew answered all of our questions in a friendly and informative way. During the inspection, he noted a few areas of concern and provided real solutions that were not an upsell. I look forward to continuing to do business with A1. Andrew is a definite asset and represents the company well. Thank you for sending an expert tech to our home.

Google5A1 replaced a broken spring for us 8 years ago. When our door froze shut and damaged the lift yesterday, A1 was able to come and make repairs the day after I called. Robbie did a great job and besides fixing the main issue, he identified some other minor problems that were easily solved to keep the door working smoothly so that hopefully we won't need service for several more years...but when we do, A1 will have our business!

Google5Shaun was fabulous. His attention to detail is admirable. He thoroughly explained everything, including possibities should we need a door replacement or any other work done. We are considering a keypad replacement once we address other expense priorities. I would recommend him highly to anyone who needs an A1 technician. Thank you.

Yelp1Beware - these guys massively overcharge and use high pressure sales to try to make you pay their exorbitant fees

Yelp1Had garage door installed on March 23, 2022. They had to come back on April 8 because the wall 0ad quit working. I bought very good door and opener. Today is April 16 the the garage door failed today on a Saturday and the best they can do is come on Tuesday. The door is not shut....I cannot open it. And I am beyond angry at this situation. For as much as I spent on the door, opener and installation you would think it would be done right the first time. I literally have used the door 5 times. It's a second garage. Now the car is stuck in there and I have to wait until they can get to me.

Yelp1What a disappointment. I scheduled a new garage door motor installation confirming the model and price twice. The tech showed up and he told me that he hasn't either of the Liftmaster 8155 or 8355 on his truck, but he could sell me the more expensive model. I was ready to sign off and then he added he couldn't warrant the new motor because my springs don't qualify and need to be replaced as well. I pressed him on the warranty and he stated " the warranty is voided" because of the springs. Then he start pushing a new garage door on top of it.....what a scam. I declined the installation and called Loren Vickers overhead doors and they installed the Liftmaster 8355W the next day and included a complimentary overall tune-up. Needless to say I have the Liftmaster warranty. Stay away from A1 Garage doors.

Yelp5Disappointed when they failed to show up for scheduled appointment. No notice or call....just a no show Waiting on a Friday for a 2 to 6 pm appt spread is bad enough The customer service reps were great before the issue but I was More disappointed when I called customer service to provide feedback and was told it was my opinion and hung Up on me. Worked with Brian (new manager) and have resolved the issue

Yelp1Had a garage spring break with 2 cars in garage and needed immediate fixing. Was quoted $350-$400 over phone. To their credit, they were able to dispatch someone to relace the spring. However, I was charged twice what any other reputable company would have charged me. $800 later I had a functioning garage door. Unless you have an extra kidney to sell or are already filthy rich, I advise you to use them ONLY as a last resort. CAVEAT EMPTOR, (let the buyer beware.)

Yelp5I found this company at the home and garden show a few months ago in Flagstaff. I grabbed a card and called Ryan. From the start, Ryan was super responsive and communicative. I was looking for a new garage door opener and install. I ended up buying a Chamberlain and had Ryan do the install. He was prompt for the appt (actually early which worked great!). All in all, I am super pleased with Ryan's customer service, install and thorough explanation and setup of all components. Thanks again!

Yelp2If you don't read anything else, just skip to the bottom and call BK Garage Doors first. After having some damage done to our door about a year and a half ago, we started calling around to get prices on a new door. A1 came in at the best price for a mid to high level door. The installation went fine and the tech was very professional and good to work with. Last week, the arm that connects the drive to the actual door broke completely off. It pulled out of the door, shearing off one of the bolts. I'd never noticed till now, but the bracket was simply screwed into the door panel. No reinforcement, no steel. So now there are 4 holes in the door panel through the sheet metal and the insulation exposed in each hole. Makes no sense why it was done this way as we've verified that most new garage doors come with hardware to reinforce that linking bracket. I called A1 assuming they'd take care of it. First up, we're told there is no warranty or coverage for this (even though I'd view it as their error). It would be a $100+ charge to come out and service it, plus parts, time, etc. We're then told it will be over a week to get there as they no longer have anyone in Flagstaff. It's middle of January, snowing, and now I have to manually open and close the door and juggle cars as my wife too short to close the door herself. The last straw was when they called a week later, on the day the repair was supposed to happen. The told us there were some "emergencies" in another town over and they wouldn't make it. They thought they could be there 2-3 days later. We said we didn't want to wait anymore, but no changes. Again, we came to realize there is no one in N. AZ, and they have no help to cover the top half of the state. On a referral, we called BK Garage Doors. They were local, quick, and charged us $100 to install all the steel hardware that was supposed to be on the door in the first place. I should have called them sooner. Buyer beware if you're going to use A1.

Yelp2Our garage door was damaged after someone tried to lift it to break into our house 2 weeks ago. We had Shavers garage come out, it took them 35 or forty minutes and they charged 75.00, they did a great job ! When we returned from camping today, our garage door came off track, because my husband had latched it incorrectly. Called Shavers, but their guys were all busy, so we called A-1. The Tech was on time and called to let us know he was on his way. He looked at it (less damage than 2 weeks ago), said well, it is a hung door, that is 199.00, plus 60.00. Highway robbery ! The office had not even asked what the problem was, or quoted a price.
