Technician explained our options: good..better..best...and the prices for each. Helped us decide which would work for us. Services Rendered: Garage door opener replacement
They are fantastic. They came out and fix it. No problem. They even program my car [16:49]. I have used them 2 or 3 times. They are my go to when it comes to garage door. They are very responsible. They are really good. They are a little bit on the high side. Services Rendered: They install the garage door when I moved in. [16:25].
Never talked to them. Services Rendered: Never returned my email after 2 weeks.
I paid the bill, knowing I'd been nailed but what can ya do about it? A week later when the opener didn't work, the company reluctantly sent out a service person who tried to blame the openers failure on 1.) me 2.) the heat 3.) the installation being done wrong and 4.) the quality of workmanship of the installer, and 5.) our existing wiring which they re-used being too lazy to rerun new! By this time I'd had it with the BS and told him that if he didn't get it working, he could remove it and take it back. I'd stop the payment or reverse the credit card as needed and we'd call it even. At that point he suddenly figured out how to fix it, and the opener started working again. Five days later, I came home and it would no open. Again. Called Precision and they sent out another guy - this time one supposedly expert in the Jackshaft style openers. After talking with him, I found that his "expertise" extended to the two or three he had installed prior to this one! Some expert! The third service guy did however rewire the surge protector and the infared sensors. This got most of the problems, but not all of them. The car remote never could be programmed to the home-link built in opener in the BMW. Both BMW and HOMELINK tried for hours on the phone and could not get it to work. They finally came to the conclusion that the remote was not compatible with the built-in home link openers that come on every BMW! Several of these guys tried to tell me my door needed major overhaul. (It was three years old!) It did not. I chose to not fall for that ploy by pleading poverty. Seems that Precision installers have a "quota" of "extras" they're supposed to sell. There are very few set prices and these guys will gouge you for whatever they think you'll pay! Needless to say, I think the have the ethics of an alley cat. Or worse. Even an alley cat can be charming. These service people only complained about their employer, the products, and how difficult it was to work on the Jackshaft openers. My advice. Avoid Precision Garage door. The Jackshaft openers are great if they're properly installed. Quiet, fast, and solid as a rock. Just make sure the company and service guy knows you will not pay for it until its' installed perfectly and working as it should. Also check for what's in the kit before they try to charge you extra for each item. These high end openers are often sold as a "kit" of parts and contain all the extras in that kit. Services Rendered: Needed a new garage door opener installed after the old builders' cheapie model Genie failed after four years of use. I called Precision because they were able to get out the next day. Big mistake. They sold me a Liftmaster (good brand) Jackshaft opener model 3800, dwith full battery back-up and all the accessories it could possibly come with. Told me it was a "package" and later found out otherwise. The guy installed it and bitched constantly that he'd never installed a Jackshaft opener before. (FYI - jack shaft openers mount on the garage door header - to one side or another - and there is no unit on the ceiling or any track running down the middle of the garage. And they're incredibly quiet, too. After much complaining, he got the thing finished (so he claimed) and handed me a bill for the opener, a service call, the keypad outside and an "extra" remote, plus a garage ceiling light that's part of the system too. I found out later that the things he charged me for (except for the batter back-up) were INCLUDED in this particular kit from Liftmaster. But I got charged separately for them anyway. I had my ex's BMW 750 that day parked in the drive, and the installer kept commenting on the price of that car and how "rich" we must be to have one! (I'm old-school and you do not comment on people's "things". You never know. They might have inherited them, or won them in a lawsuit as part of a wrongful death claim or something equally awful - and hardly want to be reminded of how they acquired it. As for being "rich" today... anyone who's managed to hang onto middle or upper middle class life is doing quite well in today's economy. "Rich" ain't what it used to be, for certain! And I hardly expect some garage door installer to be commenting on the state of my net worth or the lack there-of.
It was a Big Deal that I purchased for $99. They did a good job but I have noticed that there is a piece on my garage door that is buckling. I am going to have to call them back. I think I would use them again. Services Rendered: I used Precision Door to reseal my garage door. They talked me into buying new rollers, new springs and all that kind of stuff.
Service tech was knowledgeable and very good at what he does. I suspect I may have overpaid somewhat, but the quality of work was very good. Services Rendered: Purchased $49 "Tune-Up" special, which didn't include anything being tuned up, however other major issues were discovered (as expected) and a major door overhaul was completed.
The prices were pretty high. He replaced some things that I'm not sure needed replacing. They came out right away and the responsiveness was good. Services Rendered: They put in a couple of braces, replaced the rollers, and springs on the garage door.
Exceptional service. Not only was the only bad one replaced, but shown where 2 others would eventually go bad as well. He then gave me replacements for these two as well as new screws so that I wouldn't have to call or go purchase the items later. Also, a couple of months later, another part went bad. It was a part that the garage door opener drive screw turns to make the door go up or down. This seems to wear down and needs to be replaced periodically, which I didn't know (not ever having one of these before.) I went to their office and purchased the part. Best part is that they explained the best way to replace the part, which probably would have taken me an hour or so to figure out by myself. Services Rendered: Fixed garage door by replacing wheel carriages.
The work was alright. They were very pleasant to deal with, but I later found out that I didn't need $600.00 worth of work. I just don't believe that they are honorable. Services Rendered: They came a few years ago. The garage door wouldn't open, so they tightened it and put new springs and rollers in.
I called them one morning and they came out the same day. They were quick, professional and no hassle. I have had it in for two weeks now and it runs smoothly and quietly. Though the price seemed high to me when I can do this myself, in the long run this was worth the labor cost to not do it myself! Services Rendered: Precision Door replaced my garage door opener for my 16' x 8' door.
