We contracted with Winchip to replace both a 2 car and a 1 car garage door(s) on our home. We called them (and 2-3 other garage door companies) to give us a price. They were timely in returning our calls, they came to our home promptly, reviewed the installation, and provided us with a detailed quote with options. We spoke to them a couple of times afterwards so we could decide what we wanted, and they revised / updated their quote so everything was clear. Their pricing was fair / competitive; we chose them because of their pre-sale professionalism and service, Once we gave them a down payment with an agreed-upon installation date they were prompt, and gave us a call in advance to remind us of the installation date and the time they would be here. Even the owner (Mr. Winchip) answered the phone, took calls, and was helpful. Two gentlemen showed up, on time, were polite / professional, cleaned up when finished, and did an excellent job installing both doors. A couple of weeks later we noticed a noise coming from one of the doors when opening. We called, Mr Winchip answered, advised his folks would stop by to diagnose / fix. True to form they stopped by a few days later (another extremely professional and capable gentleman), fixed the noise, and off he went. We would highly recommend Winchip; feel free to call us (Winchip has our permission to provide you with our number if you ask) should you wish to discuss). Betsy & Keith Meyer Saratoga Springs, NY
Absolutely incredible service! George and Dylan were prompt, courteous and efficient. They diagnosed our problem and fixed the garage door opener in less than 45 minutes. We would highly recommend others to use their service and plan to use them again in the future!
I recently purchased a home in Glens Falls. The door opener is am Allister Access 3500, a 1993 model, installed by Ed Winchip in 1997 (new). The previous owner kept the paperwork in the garage, so I was able to easily locate Winchip. The two remote door openers are starting to wear out. The Allister Access 3500, however, is still working like new and picks up that big wood two-car garage door like it's nothing. (20 years, is this normal?). Other than having to repaint the door, it's perfect. I went to Home Depot and got a universal remote for $30. However, the 25 year old technology does not have a "learn" button for this newer universal remote. Well, Ed has 'em. $40. I haven't gotten there yet, but I will be over in a few weeks. From what I understand, they can copy the settings from the old remote(s) to the new one. So far, so good.
