I made contact with the Overhead Door Company of Grand Rapids to discuss the poor craftsmanship of my garage doors. We bought a house that was 14 years old and I wanted to know why the garage doors had so many indentations (looked like someone was hitting golf balls against them every day-all day), they called these doors the 495 series flush doors. Essentially I was told they made these for 1 year and discontinued due to the issue I mentioned above. I wanted to replace the doors, they had no desire to assist in the replacement, in fairness the house is 14 years old, I wasn't asking for something for nothing, I just wanted to understand if they knew they had a problem why wouldn't they in good faith make some form of restitution or allowance on a new set of doors. If I owned the company I wouldn't want my name on these doors, I was looking at 22K in replacement doors. I still plan on replacing just not with this company, I feel its important today to stand behind the product you sell, when you knowingly have issues they should be addressed, it's called customer service, Overhead Door of Grand Rapids lacks that, I would take my business elsewhere when shopping for garage doors if you want a company you can count on.
