They saved me money when repairing my garage door opener. I expected to replace my opener which would have been expensive. They were able to repair my opener. Also very honest. They could have taken advantage of me but they did not.

"When people keep repeating That you'll never fall in love When everybody keeps retreating But you can't seem to get enough Let my love open the door to your heart" (Peter Townsend) Let's be honest, when you have somewhere to go and your garage door won't open (even after you disengage the lift) you are in a world of trouble. Garage door operators are like any other machine, after X many years they poop out. For ours, 15 years was the magic number. I called American Excellence at 9 AM and they returned the call just a few hours later. A few hours after that, their technician, Dan, was here checking things out. He got the overhead door to open. He got the overhead door to close, but then it mysteriously opened again for no apparent reason. He worked very hard to figure out what was wrong and ultimately decided the computer board inside the operator assembly was in the process of intermittent failure. Blame it on old age. Swapping it out for a new board was a risky option. So we decided to bite the bullet and go for a full replacement of the overhead operator with a new outdoor panel to open the door with a code you punch in. One interesting thing we learned is that this new generation of door openers doesn't play nice with certain LED lightbulbs. I guess the technologies fight each other. So you'll need an OG incandescent bulb or a certain type of LED.. Shout out to Dan who was super helpful, polite, and had great customer service skills.

I don't usually write reviews but I read them. Yes, I'm guilty. I had to write about this company from the phone conversation with Steve scheduling my appointment to the service they provided. Steve was very polite and helpful over the phone. If anyone knows anything about customer service you can feel the good and bad energy through the phone. Steve energy was very inviting and professional and just from our conversation I wanted to do business with this company. I am so glad and thankful I did thanks to the Yankee Flyer where I saw their ad. Dan came and started the job, another polite gentleman who made me feel comfortable as he explained what he was doing. Steve came to help Dan and finished the job up. These guys are a team package of awesomeness. I wish there were more companies like this one with great service and good holdsome people. I will recommend their services to all my family and friends. FYI: My garage door is not in the best shape but Steve made sure before he left I was all set. Gary and his son Steve saved my husband and I from our garage door drama. Gary was response, pleasant and sent his son out to fix to West Hartford to fix our issues. I can truly say that they are honest and only do what's absolutely necessary. Steve was quick and did a great job fixing our many issues. I truly appreciate that and thus am taking the time to write this review. Do your yourself a favor and get a quote from this company if your are upgrading or simply need repair work on your garage doors. You will not be disappointed.
American Excellence is a great company to do business with. Several years ago I had Gary and his team do some repairs on my garage door. The price, scheduling and time to the repair where great. Came time this year to replace the door. I called American Excellence and within a week I had my new door and opener installed. It looks great, the workmanship is beautiful , both Gary has his team where great to work with and the door performs perfectly. Recommended.

This company really knows what customer service is all about. They are courteous and prompt in their response time to your phone calls. They came out the same day I needed help with my garage door opener. This is the second job they have done for us and we couldn't be happier with their work and their reasonable pricing. I am a do it yourselfer and had planned to replace my own garage doors. bought doors at home depot and started to get ready for the project when all hell broke loose in my life. after many attempts to find time to do it I finally gave in and decided to call a contractor in. Called Gary at American Excellence, and was pleasantly surprised when he said he would install my doors and offered to put in his own openers. Gary was polite, professional. and scheduled appointment the next day. his team came a few days later, and two doors and openers were replaced in one day. every thing works beautifully, and smoothly. all at a good price. Very Happy!
