I called the company and explained the problem over the phone. She sent two people out out but never told me there would be a charge. When they arrived, the service tech told me that the cobwebs in front of the sensors mounted near the floor of the garage by the tracks was causing the problem and that I needed to clean the cobwebs blocking the sensors. They wanted to charge me $95 to service a garage door that just needed the cobwebs cleaned from its sensors to work properly- a charge they never told me about prior to sending someone out. I spoke to the owner of the company who was very unprofessional. He basically accused me of lying and said the charge was valid. Services Rendered: Needed to know why our garage door would not close all the way

Should be a simple job for a Garage Door Professional. Found their number on a sticker on my garage door. Called for quote on Monday, their man showed up Tuesday. .....and a week later never heard back from them about a quote or anything. They are obviously not hurting for work and are too busy to do the work I need done ASAP (emphasized that to them as as well) so I hired another Pro who quoted today and will be doing the work tomorrow. These people are as good as it gets. I have worked with them for at least 30 years. They have always provided same day service. Most of my calls have been about a broken spring or opener enhancement. They show up, define the problem, provide a quotes, and get to work. They use the most premium parts available for the situation. They adjust the the door, tighten the fixtures, and never try to upsell the opportunity or try to fix something that is not broken. The closest they ever came was telling me some parts are difficult to get due to the age of the door but still found a repair solution. They installed 2 door for my mother in law at to my recommendation. They did a spontaneous urgent repair for for my sister in law upon my recommendation, and they provided service to my mother and dad. They have provided service to me at least 6 or 7 times The only thing you must know is that if you are entitled to an identity discount be sure to tell the call taker when you schedule your request.

Was very pleased with the work they did. Eddie and A. J. were professional and efficient. They showed up on time, were friendly and well-mannered, and didn’t leave any mess behind. In addition, they went above and beyond what was contracted, by making a much-needed repair to my entry door! I have used A-1 twice before, and because they treat their customers respectfully and do a great job, I will continue to call them for any future garage door needs. Services Rendered: New garage door opener, plus repairs to a second garage door.

Last week was the 2nd time I've called A-1 Garage Doors for assistance with my garage door. The first time I needed a new garage door opener installed. I was very impressed with how quickly they got me on the schedule, how reasonable their quote was and how professional, helpful and friendly they were doing the installation. Last week, my garage door would not go down and came off the track. I couldn't leave my door like this and needed to return to work. I called and they got me in right away. 90 minutes later, they arrived. It was diagnosed and fixed within 30 minutes and he actually adjusted it to close BETTER than it did before. I was nervous about the bill coming in the mail and once again, their pricing was extremely reasonable! If I have garage door needs in the future, I'm a return customer for sure!

Arrived on time. Unloaded his truck and spread out his equipment like he knew what he was doing. In no time, he had removed the old door and loaded it on the truck while laying out the new door. Obviously, this guy was familiar with this project. I pretty much stayed inside to stay out of the way. I was surprised at how fast and efficient this job went. I could not be more pleased with my new door. I think the price of these doors are high in general. Services Rendered: Replace an old damaged garage door

We've used A-1 Garage Doors Bargersville in the past. (see previous review) so it wasn't hard to consider them when one of the springs on our garage door broke. Even though our previous experience was great I still checked prices with a couple other options. I wasn't surprised that another company was a little cheaper than the price quoted by A-1. What I had to decide was whether or not a 9% ($24) lower price was worth potential hassle or disappoint. It was an easy decision to pick (again) A-1 Garage Doors and we weren't sorry at all. Steve, the service tech arrived about 20 minutes early, was friendly, and very professional. I'm as serious as I can be when I say it took him little more than 25 minutes from start to finish to replace both springs. When he told me we were all set I was shocked. I had blocked off an hour of my schedule and gave myself extra time to get to my next appointment in case things went long. Instead of rushing to the next thing I was able to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee instead of grab and go. It has been about two weeks and the garage door continues to work great. It pays to use companies with this level of professionalism and experience. Services Rendered: Replacement of broken spring(s)

Called several different companies to obtain an estimate on replacing a brown colored garage door. They were willing to come out to the house in the evening due to on my work schedule. A-1 Garage doors were also the only company that quoted replacing the garage door to match the color of the old door. The owner himself came to the house and throughly explained what insulation factor should be considered based how we used the garage. Received a replacement quote the next day and I had a new door by the end of the following week. Services Rendered: Garage door replacement

The young guy that came out was so sweet and professional. His parents should be proud of him 21yrs old but looks like he is 16 or 17.I almoat wanted to ask him.if he wanted to join us for breakfast. I felt so comfortable with him .I almost forgot he was in my garage. I would recommend him to anyone. I didnt even think they would show up that fast. Awesome

Worst customer service I've ever had to work with. The owners always had an excuse on why they couldn't come out and do the repairs I requested. They blamed the problems and reasons for not coming on another company or because another job slowed them down, and they struggled with communication to resolve our issue. What a lack of respect as a business to business partner. If you can't complete a job that is subcontracted out to you, contact them back and ask them to sub out the job to another company because your unable to perform the service. Frustrating. Good luck.

My garage door is, shall we say, a vintage model, so when it came crashing down last Wednesday, I was sure I was in for a long wait and hefty bill. The spring/coil had snapped, also causing both steel side cables to break as the door slammed down. I live in Franklin, so a quick Google search for garage door repair companies on the south side lead me to A-1 Garage Doors, and I'm glad it did. I called them when I got to work that morning and spoke with Carol. She was as pleasant as could be, and when I explained what had happened, she was able to provide a quote over the phone, and arrange for a technician to be at my house between 9:00 - 9:30 am the next morning. She also was sure to tell me to look on the company website for a $15 off coupon! Awesome! The technician was professional, experienced (he has been working on garage doors for 30 years), polite, on time (10 minutes early, actually), clean, and had the door repaired and fully tuned up in no time. The bill was consistent with what I had been quoted, which was incredibly reasonable (my dad's brother has a garage door repair business in northwest Indiana, and he verified that the work was fairly and honestly priced). Overall, I was just happy to have my garage door working again, not to mention within 24 hours of it breaking! Combine that with the fact that the price was fair, the people were nice, and I even got a hand-written note in the mail yesterday thanking me for my business, and A-1 has earned a customer for life. Highly recommend!
