We got our springs replaced on one occasion, which went well. Went with an opener replacement, out of the options available we went with the "commercial" option. After having the unit successfully installed, we noticed a vibration from the motor on the lifting unit. Dan's, after being made aware of the issue sent a technician out to diagnose and possibly resolve vibration issue. After diagnosis, it was determined that the unit may be the problem. All in all Dan's made multiple attempts to make sure i was satisfied with the final product. In the end, they replaced the faulted unit with an upgraded one. Very satisfied with overall experience from this company. If I ever need anything garage door related, I would definitely call them again.

I should have paid attention to the bad reviews. They originally installed this garage door and a spring broke after 7-years. You have to give them your credit card before they will schedule a repair. A single tech was here for 45 minutes and they billed me $420. I called and asked why so much and I all got was it is their standard $110/hour, a spring charge, mileage, field charge? and tax. Granted this was for a single broken spring on a 10'x8' door and they are 3.1-miles away. $420 seems high to me -- also even though I was in the house, the tech never explained what was actually fixed nor have I seen an invoice with a breakdown of costs, but since you have to give your credit card info before they start, there isn't much you can do. Would not recommend.

Called 3 1/2 weeks ago to get my garage door opener repaired. Sean said he had to order the part it should be in by the end of that week. Next week rolled around he said by the end of that week. Third week rolled around he did not return my call. I go ahold of him today and told him I ordered the part Friday and it came in on Sunday. Thanks for wasting my time.

Dan’s Overhead Doors is one of the only family owned garage door repair places in the Coralville area. Highly recommend them after our experience today! They texted 20 minutes before arriving and got right to work, very knowledgeable and friendly. He replaced the torsion spring in about 15 minutes and made a minor repair with spare parts he had on hand. They had my credit card on file and sent me an email invoice. Thank you for your help today!

The service tech, Bryan Bishop, did an excellent job helping me understand what the problems were, and things to look for in the future, to ensure the safety of my garage door. I called at noon on Monday to ask when we could get a tech out to repair the door. I was told Friday at the earliest. I asked if there was an emergency rate, as our garage door was stuck open, and agreed to pay it so we could get it functioning. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call that they had a local tech running ahead of schedule and they were at my house by 1:15. It took him 20 minutes to complete the job. Since it was not during "overtime" hours, they also said they would charge me the normal rate. I am so happy and would recommend them to anyone!!
