I purchased a replacement picture window for my home in August of 2014. The installer told me that he had great difficulty installing it. It replaced an insulated window that had been in place for 45 years. In February the glass cracked, top to bottom on the inside only, one morning while I was having coffee. Nothing touched the glass. An inspector came out the following week. He reported that nothing appeared to have caused the damage. His best guess was that the house "settled" . He told me customer service would call me to discuss options. The rep told me that the crack did not fall under warranty as the house had settled. I told her of the installer's difficulty at installation and relayed that I thought that was the root of the problem. She offered to replace the window at cost for the glass with no charge for labor. Once the glass is removed, if it appears that a bad installation was at fault, they will refund the cost of the glass.
