We originally got our garage doors from Sears, but instead of returning to them when a door wasn't working, I decided to hit Yelp and find a local company. After calling around, we were referred to Santa Fe because they carry Craftsman parts (because apparently Craftsman is only a Sears thing?) and finally decided to go with them because they gave free estimates.
We were able to schedule an appointment the same day, and they accept credit cards on the spot.
It turned out that the problem was just the setting for the weight of the door, and it literally took a notch of a screw driver to fix the problem. He also lubed the tracks of the door, but in the end, we were still charged $90 (the service call fee) for work that took 10 minutes. While I understand the need to charge once they fixed the problem, it would have been great if they had a smaller "dummies" charge for small things that don't actually require any "fixing" (in hindsight, a google search might have done it... Now I feel silly).
Because our doors were very old, they gave us an estimate for new doors, which seemed pretty reasonable. I may go back to them once our doors completely give out.
