DID NOT SHOW UP for appointment and no communication as to why! Thomas? at 1st was quick to communicate and set up a time with me. He gave me a 4 hr time frame as to when he'd arrive. (1pm-4pm). I left a msg a little after 1pm to confirm if appointment was still on. No answer. I hurried through my other errands so I would meet him on time. At 3pm I checked again asking for an ETA-nothing. 10 til 4pm I left msg that if not there by 4 to just cancel. I then called both his phone #s which rang and rang with no option to talk to him. Unless there was an emergency, which I sincerely hope not, there is no excuse not to contact someone if you can't make it. Thought about giving him another chance if he called the next day with an explanation, but never heard a word. I have our communications (and lack thereof!) documented on my phone so I know I had the correct number. I went with another company. To his credit, he was $20 below on his cost estimate.
The owner has stated I was "rude and demanding". I'm sad to hear this because I truly wasn't. I went back just to double check my texts and they were just normal short questions and included genuine "please and thank yous". Even so, a good company would let the customer know they were not going to complete a service call. I suppose it stems from one of the basic problems with text communication. People can misinterpret the "tone" of a message because of not hearing the actual voice. I'd be the first to admit if I had been guilty of what I'm accused of and apologize. But I simply wasn't. I am sorry that the owner feels he was disrespected. However, I honestly, for the life of me cannot figure out what I did wrong. I arranged everything around the appointment with intent of respect for him. I wanted to be sure I wasn't late so HE wouldn't have to wait on ME!
I did include the positives concerning interactions with the company to be fair. This is just unfortunate. I left the review because I felt accountability was in order for how I was totally let down as a customer. The quality of actual work is probably great considering the 5 star reviews, but I'll never know. In the future, my suggestion to the company would be that if they did not want to service a customer because they did not like the way the customer communicated, to act professionally anyway and politely let that customer know. That would help avoid any potential negative reviews if such a matter should come up again.
