This is the second time I've gone with Door Crafters and Steve is the best out there. Not only did he come next day to fix my garage he went above and beyond to replace my barrings after he saw they were bad. Instead of ripping me off and coming back for another service he was honest about it and showed me the problem and replaced them without hesitation. Great work ethic and very knowledgeable. Steve , the owner of Door Crafters of Irvine, is friendly, knowledgeable and provided great service. Backing our car out the garage without the door completely open wrecked our garage door and wasn't too good for the car either. Steve had installed a new garage door opener for us a few years ago so we contacted him to install our new garage door. First he instructed us on how to secure our broken door as we were headed out of town for a few days. When we returned from our trip we set up an appointment to have the new door installed. Fortunately he had a replacement in stock and within a few days of our return the new door was installed. When the unexpected happens it makes it a lot easier when you have someone that is so helpful in getting the job done quickly with quality products and professional installation.

Seamless, easy experience. Extremely pleased with process and outcome. My old overhead garage opener was on its last leg and I wanted to convert to a Genie wall-mounted opener. Found Door Crafters of Irvine through reviews. Steve promptly got back to me, quoted a reasonable price based on pictures, and set an appointment just a couple of days later to come to Laguna. Steve and his associate were awesome. Prompt, friendly, and efficient. Less than 2 hours later my garage door is now whisper quiet, everything was cleaned up and better than they found it. Thank you! I called to get an estimate for service, got no response for a couple of hours, so I called again, which resulted in a verbal assault via text, part of which you can see in the attached photo. This guy is a piece of work, I would never do business with anyone who treats customers like this.

This is actually our second time, using Door Crafters of Irvine. Steve is an amazing person and for our first time, our garage door wouldn't close so at night he came to close it for us and in the morning he came first thing to fix it for us. For today, our door wouldn't close so we called him and he called us back instantly. He asked for photos, so I send them to him and he gave me step by step instructions on how to fix it. He Is truly amazing and would recommend to anyone who has problems with their garage.

Door Crafters is the only garage door repair and installation service you should use, hands down. I received estimates from 3 other services including Stress Free and Urgent Garage doors all that were double the price of what Steve charged me. He was prompt, friendly and did an excellent job. The other companies were basically trying to scam people who are in a bind and charging outrageous amounts because they think you are desperate. I am so glad I went with Steve at Door Crafters and would never use another company moving forward and my mom is now going to use him for her new garage door. THANK YOU SO MUCH STEVE!

February 20, 2020: I told Steve that I wanted to replace my garage door, perhaps with a wooden one. He pointed out the high cost and ongoing maintenance problems of the wood door, came to inspect my existing door, and forthrightly said that all I needed were new panels. He had the panels delivered the next day, and Robbie came to install them, doing a thorough job. (Great solution to a construction defect in 1998, when the builder failed to prime the original garage door, and the paint blistered all the time.) Kudos to a company that serves its customer's best interests, and doesn't try to upsell!

After contacting several garage door service companies, I decided to have Steve to do my garage repair work. I am very happy that I made a right decision. Steve did a very professional and timely job by replacing two broken springs, the end bearings and fixing two vertical tracks. His service charge is reasonable and fair comparing with other companies. I had a good conversation with Steve during his inspection of my garage damage. He shared with me his thoughts and altitude for doing business. Steve, a reborn christian, knows what he should do and what he cannot do as a business owner and a service professional. I wholly agree with him. He is a truthful and nice guy to work with. If I would have a garage problem again in the future, I definitely would go back to Steve. I strongly recommend you do the same as me, and you won't regret, I promise!

Great customer service. I needed a new remote for my garage door and had no idea what type or brand I need. I spoke with Steve and he saved me a lot of money by asking me for pictures, doing research online for the remote, and letting me know via text what I needed. He was knowledgeable and courteous. He even offered to stop by my home at no cost on a Saturday to make sure my product worked. When it's time for replacement I plan to use this company.

Steve did a thorough job. Right away, he told me that the garage door was having trouble closing because the sensors were out of balance due to the track and wood being loose. I also asked him to replace the springs since they are 15 years old. What I appreciate about Steve is the extra time he took to do the little things that I would not have known that needed be done. For example, he replaced the bearings, stapled the electrical cord that was messily hanging from the wall to the sensor, and tightened the belt. He told me he didn't tighten the belt all the way because something inside the motor was leaning, and that would have been too much stress on the internal part, thereby shortening the life of the motor. He even noticed that the reason the sensor had gotten misaligned is because the wood was rotten due to termite damage. I appreciate that Steve answered all my questions and educated me on what work he was doing and why, and what potential problems to look out for in the future. Steve is also a nice guy, and strikes me as honest and someone with integrity. Services Rendered: Replace garage springs, adjust sensors, tighten motor belt and general tune-up

Quality, prompt, and professional! I reached out to three highly rated Garage Door service companies for quotes to replace the springs on my two car garage door. Steve responded almost immediately (and was the only one who actually answered my all my questions). He explained both what was broken, and what wasn't, including lubrication of the track wheels. Steve replaced my garage door and did an excellent job. He answers the phone himself and does all of his own work. He shows up when he says he will and does what he says at the price quoted. Steve helped me with my insurance claim which was great. I mentioned that my hot water heater needed to be replaced and found out to my surprise that he was also a plumber! He did a good job on that and returned once promptly to fix a problem. I would definitely recommend Steve for both garage doors & plumbing.

My husband had recently contacted Steve regarding our garage door springs breaking, I believe back in December. Luckily the springs broke while I our garage was closed, but my car was unfortunately inside. That being said, my husband and I were both pleasantly supposed that he came out that same morning shortly after they spoke. I was gone only a short time that morning, never saw steve, but when I got back our door was fixed! My husband said he was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and quick! He even reinforced our garage door by adding another spring. That job was $250. Now this brings me to our current job that Steve did for us. My husband had mentioned during his meeting that he had mentioned to Steve that our garage door makes a lot of noise when opened/closed. Steve mentioned a new motor would resolve that problem. So, I decided to contact Steve once again to have him replace for us. He worked with my availability for scheduling and was at our home on the day and time he had confirmed with me. My husband was right, he is such a great person to work with. My toddler enjoyed having him around and he did his job well. I still cannot believe how quite our new motor is and Steve even programmed the garage to open from my car controls since my husband was out of town. One of the two torsion springs on my garage door broke on a Friday evening which left my car trapped in the garage until I got it fixed! The door had a sticker with the phone number of the original installer, but when I looked them up on Angie's List I wasn't too impressed, so I decided to try a different company. Door Crafters of Irvine had good reviews so I gave them a call. By this time it was about 8 PM but Steve picked up the phone right away. He said he could come out as early as 7 AM the next morning and the cost would be $250 (plus a discount for Angie's List customers). That sounded reasonable and I was impressed by his responsiveness so I decided not to shop around and made an appointment for 9 AM (he gave me a one-hour arrival window of 9-10). On Saturday he arrived just after 9 AM. He was very friendly, polite, and professional. He replaced both springs (he said they should be replaced as a matching pair, which made sense) and lubricated the whole door assembly. When he was done he left everything clean and tidy and the garage door was WAY quieter than before. I would highly recommend Door Crafters of Irvine. It might be possible to find a cheaper price. I don't know because I didn't shop around. However, for the responsiveness and service I received I was very happy with the price!
