My friend Dave who only has a flip phone, needed a new garage door opener installed and had been waiting on another company that never got back to him. Joel was quick to respond back, answered any questions Dave had, very reasonably priced and did a great job!
Joel is very great to work with. We had a garage door installed, and the whole process was very satisfactory. He answered my questions, and will schedule more work we need done because of updates and adjustments. We also feel that we aren't being over charged. I highly recommend!!
Scheduled my garage door install with Joel, said he would be onsite by 11:30. Called him at 12:30 no answer. Received a call over an hour later saying his van broke down. Not sure why he couldn't let me know before he was more than 2 hours late. Came the next day and installed the door and opener but said he couldn't finish the opener install because there was a bad safety sensor. Requested a new sensor from the manufacturer and days later after spending several hours trying to install, troubleshoot and work with tech support to no avail, I finally discovered that Joel wired the sensors and the door control incorrectly! Once I rewired it the opener worked fine. Then I come to realize the door is crooked. I call Joel to let him know. He tells me he'll be in the area on Saturday and he'd stop by to work on it. Never shows up. I call and leave a message and he texts back several days later and says he couldn't make it but he'd swing by next week. I ask what day and he never responds and never stops by. I found out from the garage door manufacturer, Wayne Dalton, that he's been dropped as their local vendor due to his unreliability. I can see why.
Totally agree with the reviews about dealing with Joel. Wish I would have read them before waiting 2 months for a garage door to get installed. Terrible communicator, does not follow through. Never actually got the work done. Save yourself time and frustration and call Quality Garage Door in West Branch.
Worst experience ever dealing with Joel. Half the time his voicemail was full so we couldn't leave a message and when we could he didnt respond. Same with texts. I understand he gets contracts from other companies but that is no reason to make his customers pay for his issues. He unloaded our door into our garage and never contacted us once about what was going on. Please beware. These reasons could be why his company has less than 4 stars.
BEWARE: Working with Joel has been the worst experience of my life; Comcast customer service is amazing compared to this experience. I ordered retractable screen doors from him in Feb of 2021, he was supposed to install them first week of July. Long story short is that as of today, 3/18/22 the screen does have yet to be installed. He not once reached out to me first, I always had to ask for an update, double check when he was coming etc. I was so embarrassing understanding with covid and just life but in a course of a week he has TWO no shows or no call. I stayed home both days w/o word from him. I'm so mad. I've never felt with someone so unprofessional and will warn anyone regarding hiring him.
My garage door opener stopped working suddenly on Thursday, February 18 in the late afternoon. I did a Google search for a local repair place & North Shore was at the top of the list. I called & talked with Joel who said he could come within the hour. He did so, provided an estimate that evening, kept me aware of the ordering of the needed materials & had Tracy call me to let me know he was coming to repair. He completed the repair on Monday, 2/22 & Tracy did a follow up call to remind me to have them check the door after the final thaw this spring. Both Joel and Tracy were professional, personable & the price was very reasonable. Top notch service. I wish I could give them a 10/10. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
