Few days ago the OH garage door spring broke down. I remember that few years ago the other spring did brake down. Back then the tech came in quickly and replaced the spring with a new one. He did warn me that the 2nd spring might go and probably needs to be replaced. I forgot to do it. The whole thing was way less that $200. This time I called Michel. She promptly dispatched a technician. She was the only good person in this sad story. I also asked her for a quote for a new door. The tech came in the same afternoon and cut the spring to fix it temporarily. The door closed fine. $190. When I complained to Michel about this being just a temporary rather permanent fix (unlike the other spring replaced few years ago), they said that they didn't know the spring dimension. Now, that they do, they have to come in again. Meanwhile I get a quote from Jeff, who insists that I have to replace the door asap ($3000???). I tell him that I want to have it fixed first, without being pressured into buying a new door... Then the techs came in and replaced the shorted spring with a new one. Another $166.. Then, after they left, I had discovered that there was a sizable gap between the door and the floor, that you can see through. Easy for the rodents to get in. I complained again. Michel said that it is an easy fix with the adjustment of electric operator, schedules it for the next week. Today tech comes in, allegedly to fix the problem... He was clearly wound up, repeatedly said that he was not trying to be a jerk, and said that he is not allowed to touch the operator (per boss's instructions, meaning Jeff's?, saying that Michel knows nothing) and I have to change the door. Why did he come in at all is a mistery... Then, after doing nothing, he leaves. This is the most outrageous, unethical, practically predatory, behavior of any business i have dealt with over the years. Absolutely unacceptable. Shame on this business. Finally, after this bitter complaint, Bob had sent 2 new guys to fix the problem. They were polite, professional and fixed the problem quickly, explaining what they had to do.

Was given an appointment time frame between 1-3 PM Friday and was told they would call. Took day off and stayed near phone to await call. Even double checked the time frame earlier in the morning and was told I would be called. 3 PM arrives no call, call business whose hours state they're open til 4PM no answer no voicemail space. Swing by office to speak to someone and see they've closed early. Would not recommend doing business with this company.

My new Garage door arrived a few days ago and was installed by two friendly and efficient representatives. The office gal was so helpful and efficient also. Our entire experience was great and Overhead Door of Pittsfield can't be beat. Thanks, I'll try to remember to put the car in park before getting out next time

I have ordered two doors from this company. The first was flawless. The second has been bad enough I will be buying from somebody else. Once there is a problem they are extremely rude and pay very little attention to detail. Not only did they give me the wrong door but they also gave me someone else's hardware. They had me pick this door up from a unmanned warehouse and forgot to tell any of their staff I would be coming. And now there is missing hardware so back to fighting with rude customer service to try and get this squared away!! Good luck!

This is a local franchise of a large service business. It is family owned and operated and has been in business for many years. There are many overhead door vendors in the area and I suspect they, too, are reputable businesses. That said, having dealt extensively with both counter staff for parts and received support from field service, their commitment to excellent service and customer satisfaction is extraordinary - and I'm a detailed and demanding customer! Its no wonder they have a queue of customers waiting for their gold standard service at most reasonable rates. If you need more information or to verify this post, contact me at [email protected]. Respectfully, Tom

They came quickly, socially distanced properly, wore a mask out of an abundance of caution and had the garage door fixed in about 10 minutes. These guys are our go-to for any garage fixes. Thanks for all your help!

I don't often write reviews but in this case sincerely wanted to. I called Overhead Door and they got us on the schedule as soon as possible. Tim and Jake came out to our house a few times and were able to take care of the problem, they were so pleasant and helpful. Michelle in the office was great too. I'm very glad that we stayed local and went with Overhead Door.

I have now had to use Overhead Door of Pittsfield twice in the past six years. In each instance they showed up to fix my door the same day I called to make the appointment. The employee was professional and efficient. The service is not cheap but well within reasonable expectations. I will continue to use this company as necessary.
